The Retro Fighters logo there is rather distracting, but all companies tend to put their branding on the forefront. Four dots for each cardinal direction would have been nice, as such slight additions usually make a controller more tactile. The Brawler64 Wireless Edition, along with wireless dongles, have been meticulously designed to match the gray and transparent colors of the Nintendo 64 console. Very impressed with the product equally impressed with how quick i got my controller from stone age, so well done there.

The Next-Gen styled controller has a completely updated look and feel over the original trident-shaped N64 controller - featuring a two handle design, responsive buttons, D-pad, main and shoulder trigger buttons, and a comfortable analog stick. To quote from their Kickstarter update from 6th of December 2017; We don’t want to stop production to troubleshoot the transfer paks which could increase a delay to 90+ days or longer. The buttons are responsive, the joystick works great, and the ever important D-pad is great as well. After much feedback from the retro gaming community, we’ve upgraded the feel of “Z” triggers to have a more “digital” press versus an “analog” pull.

wireless technology and a 10+ hour built-in rechargeable battery pack, you can game for hours from any seat in the house.

I've been waiting a while for this and finally got myself one (apologies if there's already a review on here for this but i couldn't find one). On this particular piece, the left Z-button is slightly stiffer compared to the right one, meaning the quality control has been slacking. I tested Super Mario 64 (overall control), Conker's Bad Fur Day (also control), Mischief Makers (D-pad), Glover (D-pad and control), Mario Kart 64, and F-Zero (both for stick sensitivity. The Z buttons feel like buttons this time around as opposed to the triggers on the original wired version, which I think is an improvement. This is another controller that is sadly difficult to source something that is wireless, which is odd given Microsoft's back compatibility programme for the newer Xbox models. We recommend setting up the Brawler64 USB and calibrate all the inputs using the “Set Up USB game controllers” in the Windows control panel. Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here. It would have been nice to have rumble built in, but I am otherwise very very happy with this controller!

This is my goal, to have dedicated wireless controllers for systems with more esoteric controller designs. However, the stick would still have contact with the Left shoulder button, that requires reworked button mould and/or shell. They're very much all rooted in the N64 controller's look, feel, and button setup - especially with the C buttons and no modern-day controller can really replicate that. I was super-happy to get my hands on those bad boys to get a far more comfortable experience on the N64 without the wear-and-tear on the original’s joystick. To connect wirelessly via Xinput on PC or Android, hold “B” and the back “pairing button” until the top and bottom LED turn on.
