My audio/video ratings are based upon a comparative made against other high definition media/blu-ray disc. Not to mention the clever use of flash backs, bloody fights and general style being the substance level of winking at the camera that we get to enjoy. The film is filled with action and humor and is indeed more than a little strange, but it’s also very accessible to a large audience. Reading the synopsis, I understand why some can draw a straight line between this film, and Smokin’ Aces (a crazy film that I really like)- several factions of people are all after 1 thing. The 1080p transfer looks terrific but, this rendering takes it up a notch with an increase in detail, and emboldened highlights, both light and dark. Several songs are played throughout, but the lion’s share of the action comes from fights, gunfire and, well, a train crash. Simply put, with either the UHD or BD disc, fans are going to be in for an absolute feast for the eyes. Everyone here is performing at the top of their game and having the time of their lives cutting it all up on set. The 4K Disc only includes the commentary track and additional Sony titles, while the Blu-ray carries all of them. Included are some interesting little tidbits about random (and not so random) things here and there.

And the great thing is, that all these elements have congealed together to make this a blast of a viewing experience. Other new releases include Bodies Bodies Bodies on 4K UHD and Blu-ray and Fall on Blu-ray from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, Batman and Superman: Battle . The 4K image with Dolby Vision looks exquisite and demo-worthy and the Dolby Atmos audio track sounds lovely and loud.Zackige Rückblenden und im Bild erscheinende Figurenbeschreibungen sollen dem Ganzen zusätzlich einen ironisch-lässigen Anstrich verleihen" (Cineman). Everyone was obviously having a blast, with Michael Shannon hamming it up as a Russian (turned Japanense) Yakuza boss, Brad Pitt Channeling his character from The Lost City, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson just basking in the glorious spotlight of being an over the top assassin. With the almost constant thrum of the smooth train, interspersed with whipping acoustics for exterior shots of it tearing along at full pelt, Bullet Train isn't wall-to-wall action, but does have more than enough to keep you enthralled, whether in more subtle atmospheric flourishes or in body blows and blade slices, or in thunderous gunfire and explosions, peppered throughout but landing with a bang in its all-out finale. Dialog is crisp and clean in the front as expected, and overall this is pure auditory candy for the ears. Prince's blue eyes (look at the 1:01:31 mark for an example of how her eyes just leap out of the screen).
